Located in the heart of Cooper-Young, The Abbey is a live music venue that boasts a musical heritage that is unique to Memphis as Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Two made their debut public performance in the room, before the then gospel trio signed with Sun Records in the spring of 1955.

The Abbey continues the room’s rich musical legacy by establishing a market in Memphis for up-and-coming artists from a wide variety of musical tastes ranging from bluegrass to hip-hop and all points in between. On any given night of the week, our 250 capacity venue boasts the best local and national talent.

Our address is 1015 South Cooper (corner of Cooper and Walker, Midtown) Memphis, TN 38104.

We are located in the basement of  Lifelink Church formerly Galloway United Methodist, enter through the red door on Walker Ave.
